Care to donate any story books?

A school for the underprivileged in Bangalore would welcome your story book contribution. Their wish list on Amazon is here. A story book collection drive launched in 2009 was successful, but I wish to continue the effort.

Diwali days and giving away

Dear Readers,

Diwali, the festival of lights is here and we have a two day vacation. Yet, my hopes of enjoying these two days evaporated into thin air.

Today, I realised, the edema I was suffering from and the rashes that appeared today morning were the side effects of some medicines. Sigh. I guess, I realised it in time, before I stopped breathing. Medicines do a lot more than just cure.

There is no better day to clean your wardrobe than one where you are bloated (I put on more than 5 kgs overnight, so bad was the edema). Well, I prefer to see the bright side of everything.

Our office, every Diwali hosts a clothes collection drive for Goonj. So I cleaned up my wardrobes and got lots of stuff all ready to be packed. Some warm clothes are going to our driver's family who resides in a village up North where the winters are cold. Thanks to a few years stint in Bangalore, I had lots of warm clothes which I will never wear in Aamchi Mumbai.

Goonj really does a lot of good work. FOR THOSE IN INDIA: Perhaps you can arrange for a clothes collection drive in your office or your neighbourhood? The clothes can be deposited at the collection sites spread all over India. Visit their webpage now and see what you can do.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year.

Best regards,
Lubna

I am a proud Doodler

Dear Readers,

I always knew that Doodling was productive. Why, I even have a tiny note pad, on which I doodle during the ride between various client meetings. It helps me think, on how best to approach issues at the upcoming meetings.

When I am stuck and chewing on a problem, I doodle! I doodle, when stuck in traffic jams, I doodle while on flight, I doodle while on vacation, I doodle while I am reading a newspaper or a thick report. All I need is a pen and paper, or the little white columnar space alongside the page I am reading.

Now, what I always knew, has been proved in studies. Watch Sunni Brown on Ted Talks.

Enjoy and happy Doodling!

I am unable to upload the video, my MTNL broadband isn't working, so just access this link here.

Best,
Lubna
