Care to donate any story books?

A school for the underprivileged in Bangalore would welcome your story book contribution. Their wish list on Amazon is here. A story book collection drive launched in 2009 was successful, but I wish to continue the effort.

Happiness is....

Liquid brown eyes
They trust you
They look deep into your soul
The body quivers
The tail wags furiously
Unconditional love overwhelms you
Happiness is
Holding a happy puppy dog

So, if you can, why not adopt a puppy dog or kitten today? For adoptions in Mumbai, this blog is very helpful to help you find that perfect friend. Click here to go to Adopt a Pet

Waiting for tomorrow

Waiting for Tomorrow

The sun beams drifts in
It hurts, I blink my eyes in pain
Perhaps the rays are trying to penetrate the gloom, within;
The pigeons coo
It hurts, the 'coos' resound
The echo inside my head sounds like erratic thunder;
A waft of music floats my way
Adrift on a rare summer breeze
I try to block out the sound;

Tomorrow will be another day
I shall happily reach out to welcome the sun beams
I shall let pigeon's coos ease my troubled thoughts
I shall let my soul rejoice to unexpected music
For now, I shall wait, for tomorrow
I hope it comes soon.

Surprise gifts to chase my blues away

Dear Readers,
Those who know me, know how much I hate shopping - unless it is for books (Oh, how I miss the glorious book shops of Bangalore where I spent a few years). That said, the only place where I literally drag myself to, when my clothes get all faded and I need proper office attire is Westside. Or at best, Fab India. My shopping spree gets over in a jiffy.
Yet, a google search, once brought me to GirlyHour. Girly loves shopping and she loves telling us where to shop, where to go for a fab cup cake or for that hair cut. Once, I participated in a "pink" getaway and hey presto today came a surprise gift.
Encased in a Tom and Jerry pouch was a Maybelline stick and one of my favorite things - a note pad.
I am always writing, scribbling, doodling and love note pads.
This surprise helped chase my blues away, as owing to a real bad accident, my car is damaged beyond comprehension. A BEST bus, lost control and rammed into us at the traffic signal.Luckily, the car bore the brunt and not its passengers.
If you are in Mumbai and love to shop or even if you don't, look up Girly Hour for some tips, it helps not having to waste time shopping - if you know where you ought to go.
Have a nice weekend.
Lubna
