Sometimes...

Sometimes...

SOMETIMES
It is difficult to find the silver lining, around the dark clouds
I know it must be there somewhere
But it seems hidden
So, I too shall hide
For sometime
Till I can emerge, smiling again
Bye for now and hope to meet you again soon

What is this life?

Dear Readers,
In Mumbai, everyone seems to be running against the clock. It brought to my mind the first two lines of a poem by William Henry Davies: What is this life, if full of care? We have no time to stop and stare...
Indeed, I wonder how many commuters have ever stopped to gaze at the beauty of the Victoria Terminus (VT) now renamed as Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST)? One day, I hope to capture its beauty on my camera, meanwhile a few quick shots taken while on the move from my Blackberry camera.
It has rained heavily in Mumbai and it is quite cool and pleasant now.
Have a nice weekend. I intend catching up on my sleep this weekend.
Best,
Lubna

And more photographs

And some more...

Sunset after the rains

Dear Readers,
While driving past Marine Drive, I clicked these (I love my Blackberry camera), even if having a Blackberry means, getting up in the morning, brushing my teeth and checking my mails.
Enjoy the scene. Some were taken while the car was stationery at the traffic signal, others while speeding past.
Best regards,
Lubna

The monsoon lashed Mumbai

Dear Readers,
I am travelling in the car, going for a meeting in the suburbs and thought I could use my time to upload these pictures and share with you the first monsoon onslaught for 2010 which we are currently experiencing.

What best to portray the monsoon magic, than a BEST bus, splashing its way across the road, or the yellow tyres that are propped up along side JJ flyover (to act as a buffer, I presume) getting a wash. The sea along Marine Drive is all choppy and the strip of land, which is clearly visible from Marine Drive is being battered by waves. A family including a little kid are braving the rain and the fury of the sea, the waves are splashing right across the pavement.

All taken from a blackberry camera, hence a bit fuzzy - the rain didn't help either. But well, it captures the monsoon season. So enjoy.

PS: Have added the raindrops clinging to a window grill - a pretty picture.

Best,
Lubna

A handful of stones

Dear Readers

Fiona, published my "small stone", on her blogzine aptly called A Handful of Stones (Look up June 11). I had penned this a long time ago, but there is a long waiting list. I guess the open sky which I blogged about in my last post, does mean a lot to me.

She delightfully captures the concept of a small stone: A small stone is a polished moment of paying proper attention.

Fresh sterile sheets
Antiseptics, IV fluids, PAIN
An open window
Birds soaring high
Hope of freedom

Have a nice weekend.

Best regards,
Lubna

A piece of sky

Dear Readers,

I hate offices which don't have a window (one of our previous offices had no windows). Working there I felt claustrophobic and unhappy and used to often visit a friend in another office on the same floor to catch a glimpse of the sky.

Glimpsing a piece of sky always cheers me up. At my present office not only do I get to see the sky, but I also get to see the sea. Well a few cabins offer a full view of Marine Drive. My seat overlooks the Maharashtra legislative assembly and beyond the skyscrapers I get to see the Arabia Sea and the ships.

Today, using the camera attached to my blackberry I took two photographs of the view from my desk and here they are (In this photograph: the ships aren't exactly visible, unless you look hard).

Unfortunately, very soon we shall be moving away from Nariman Point to a central location, which has no sea view. At long as I still get to see the sky, I shall not complain.

Have a nice week ahead.
Lubna
